ABSTRACT

Internal migration is at once one of the most important determinants of population change and the one about which we know least. Every year many persons move to different residence and a considerable fraction of this migration is highly significant in economic and cultural terms. This study shows that internal migration in India according to sex and duration of different streams of migration for various decades.
